THINKPAD 770X FEATURES
LCD DISPLAY:
Depending on model, the ThinkPad 770X system comes with a 358.1-mm (14.1-inch) (measured diagonally) TFT display with 1024 x 768 resolution and 4 MB of video RAM, or a 348-mm (13.7-inch) (measured diagonally) TFT display with 1280 x 1024 resolution and 8 MB of video RAM. These TFT displays provides superb brightness with excellent viewing capability, helping to lessen the glare indoors.

KEYBOARD AND TRACKPOINT WITH ENHANCED FEATURES:
The keyboard has the familiar layout of a ThinkPad notebook with a function key capability that allows you to quickly access system functions, such as power management control. Also featured is a, larger palm-rest area.

The ThinkPad 770X provides Euro Currency support (EMEA models only).

The TrackPoint pointing device with enhanced features incorporates the new "Press-to-Select" and "Release-to-Select" function of the TrackPoint. Just tap the TrackPoint itself to speed icon launches and reduce keystrokes. The new programmable center button enables fast scrolling of Web sites and documents or fast panning across wide spreadsheets. Or switch to the INNOVATIVE MAGNIFYING GLASS feature to enlarge screen views in any application.

PROCESSOR:
The 300 MHz with AGP Pentium II Mobile processor and 512 KB of L2 cache provide exceptional performance.

MEMORY:
The IBM ThinkPad 770X is designed to recognize up to 320 MB of addressable memory with the new Mobile Pentium II processor at 300 MHz. 64 MB or 128 MB of new, fast SDRAM SO DIMM system memory (RAM) is standard, depending on model. Current available memory options allow memory expansion up to 320 MB using two 128 MB SDRAM SO DIMMs in the two user accessible slots for memory expansion. On models with the 13.7-inch display, one of these slots is currently occupied with a 64 MB SDRAM that provides the standard 128 MB of system memory. This 64 MB SDRAM would have to be removed and replaced with a 128 MB SDRAM to achieve the 320 MB maximum.

PCMCIA:
The Type III slot accommodates either two Type I, two Type II, or one Type III PC card. The slot supports the CardBus adapters(6) PC card and the Zoomed Video (ZV) adapter.

(6) Currently available for DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Windows 98.

STORAGE:
The customer-removable, customer-installable standard hard drive holds up to 8.1 GB of data. The 1.44 MB diskette drive (FDD) comes standard. The FDD can either be plugged directly into the UltraBay II or used externally with the cable supplied with the system. It comes in its own enclosure.

THINKPAD ULTRABAY II:
The ThinkPad UltraBay II, also standard with the system, is an intelligent bay that switches its pinout signals to allow the installation of standard and optional features in what would normally be just the FDD bay.

UltraBay II accommodates:
Second Li-Ion battery
Second HDD
An FDD, CD-ROM, DVD, SuperDisk (LS120) Drive, or Zip drive
The 760 family hard disk drive options if the ThinkPad 770 second HDD adapter option is used
To install a second hard drive in the UltraBay II, you must have the ThinkPad 770 second HDD adapter feature.

MAGNIFICENT MOBILE MULTIMEDIA:
Consider the ThinkPad 770X with Windows 98, if you need advanced, integrated DVD multimedia -- 3D audio and video combined.
Models with the 13.7-inch display with 1280 x 1024 resolution and 8 MB of Video RAM are superb for Multimedia applications, large spreadsheet viewing, or any application requiring higher resolution.
Stereo speakers and Theater Sound (MIDI Wave Table Audio).
Optional Dolby(R) Digital audio provides support for up to five discrete channels. And, when you add your own amplifier and speakers, you can enjoy the richness of Dolby(R) sound. Requires the optional DVD and Enhanced Video card.

Exploit amazing 3D graphics, images, video, and sound capabilities as you create dazzling presentations or surf the Internet using this powerful array of advanced audio and video capabilities:

Giant 13.7-inch and 14.1-inch active matrix displays

Pentium II processor with AGP technology

Maximum flexibility with standard DVD drive or CD-ROM, depending on model

High-quality speakers and standard SRS 3D audio and Sound Blaster Pro audio applications

Software-supported MPEG/DVD playback

AUDIO:
The audio capability on the system board and the integrated microphone allow voice annotation and audio capability. The system is equipped with audio in/out jacks for stereo speakers, headphone, or external microphone. A separate dial volume control is located to the side of the keyboard.

VIDEO:
The new ThinkPad 770X system has integrated 3D graphics, providing exceptional video performance for use with 3D Web sites, business applications, and 3D video games. It has 4 MB or 8 MB of video RAM, depending on model.

The ThinkPad 770X also has enhanced video that supports hardware video acceleration, scaling, and color space conversion.

SUPERIOR MANAGEABILITY:
The ThinkPad 770X is supported by IBM's Universal Management - a comprehensive set of superior, standards based PC hardware manageability tools that work with, and complement, existing system management products in the enterprise. The ThinkPad 770X complies with the industry standard Desktop Management Interface (DMI 2.0) and is designed to the Wired for Management (WfM) baseline requirements for mobile systems. Wake on LAN support is provided via the optional SelectaBase 770 and PC Card Enabler with Advanced EtherJet feature or the SelectaDock III and a Wake on LAN network interface card. Local and remote asset management, thermal monitoring and early detection of hard drive failure is supported via the IBM Universal Management Agent(TM). Remote setup and low level maintenance is supported via IBM LANClient Control Manager(TM). Asset and data security is provided via multiple passwords and locks. Also available are the latest in virus protection and easy operating system recovery.
