P/K BlackOut Buster B6U
Here is a tutorial on how to replaced the battery on a Blackout Buster B6U, I had this UPS since 1998 and it worked until a couple of years ago. I was looking to replaced the UPS but decide on replacing the battery but could not find any information on how to do it. I decide to replaced the battery myself and made a tutorial for everyone! I hope this helps out you as it help me out. I like my Blackout Buster but the only problem I have right now is that I lost my RJ11 to serial connector for the UPS so I am looking for information on how I can build this myself. But here goes the tutorial on the Blackout Buster.

Step 1 is disconnected the UPS from the AC outlet and have nothing connected to the UPS. You will need a screw driver with a flat head and you will also need a cross head. The reason why because we need to do this is because we need to open up the UPS. Here goes a picture of my UPS it is call Blackout Buster B6U.

Step 2. Used a small flat head screw driver to open the UPS front end, stick the screw driver at the bottom of the UPS. You should see a latch or a opening where you can stick the screw driver in. Try moving the screw driver down to pop open the front end and pulling the cover up. Once you pop the front end open, pull it up towards you and the cover should removed itself.

Step 3. Once you moved the cover up it should just come off and it should look like something like the pictures.
