“Eeprom not available” Error I get this question all the time! “Why am I getting Eeprom not available?” so I though by know people would have look at my FAQ’s webpage to get a idea but I guess not?Well this error does happen a lot! Some of the things you should check are very simple. - When you power on the Laptop that you are trying to recover the password from don’t connect the wires until the laptop fully powers up and you see the “Lock and the Computer” what I notices is when you connect the wires and then power up the laptop. The Laptop sometimes locks up and this will make the Eeprom unavailable. So power on the laptop first and then connect the wires.
- If you build your own device and did not used one of my devices? PLEASE check your schematics there might be something wire wrong! Double check your components and make sure that you put them in the right place. If the components are not in the right place and you try to run the software you will get this error also.
- Make sure that you connect the right wires onto the right pins on the Eeprom. If you put the wires on the wrong pins on the Eeprom you will get this error also, so please make sure that you have connect the wires onto the right pins on the Eeprom.
- If you don’t have a GOOD contact on the Eeprom! You will get this error also! So if you solder onto the Eeprom Please make sure that you didn’t solder onto the next pin of the Eeprom and make sure that your solder has a good connection.
- If you are using a Micro Grabber or SOIC clips please make sure that you solder the wires right on the Micro Grabber or SOIC Clip. If you just wrap the wires around the Grabber or the Clip this will not work! Because you don’t have a good connection.
These are some of the things you might get this error so please double check your work just to make sure that you didn’t miss anything! If anyone else find something different or want to add to this page Please email me and let me know what addition information you might have and I will posted it here. Thank You Jamie
