After searching all over the Internet on how to recover your password without soldering three little wires onto the EEPROM of the IBM laptop. I found two ways of doing this! After doing some research on the IBM EEPROM, I found a one device that will go over the EEPROM, this device is called Small-Outline Integrated Circuit or SOIC, so far I found out that the 8 pins SOIC Clip will work There are different type of SOIC clips out there but only one will fit on the 8 pins EEPROM. So far I have not found any SOIC Clip that will fit on the 14 pins EEPROM. The other device that will work on the 14 pins EEPROM is call the Micro Grabbers   The Micro Grabbers will also work on the 8 pins EEPROM so if you are trying to recovery different types of IBM ThinkPad’s the Micro Grabbers might be the good thing to go with! The other thing I found out is if you solder onto the contacts of the Micro Grabbers or the SOIC Clip you will have a better contact instead of put the wire around the contact. This is a great solution! Instead of soldering three wires onto the EEPROM.  The Part Number for the Micro Grabbers and the SOIC Clip is listed below so please make sure that you used this part number because I found out these are the only thing that will work with the EEPROM, unless you know of a better way? Please let me know so I can post the information for everyone.

Here are some pictures on how the device looks like:

Pomona6490SOIC

The Part Number for the Micro Grabbers is: Pomona 6490 and the part number for the SOIC Clip is: POMONA 5250 PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT PART NUMBER FOR THESE CLIPS BECAUSE SO FAR I FOUND ONLY THESE CLIPS TO WORK ON THE EEPROMS.

There are more different types of SOIC Clips just in case the EEPROM is a 8, 14, 16, 20, or a 24 pin. So far the 8 pin SOIC Clip worked out for me.Before you go out and buy one make sure that the SOIC Clip will fit over the EEPROM. THIS METHOD WILL ONLY WORK ON THE 8 PIN EEPROM ! THE PART NUMBER FOR THE SOIC CLIP IS: (POMONA 5250) Here is some data on the SOIC Clip. To make sure that the clip will work, find the EEPROM size and width to make sure the clip will go on without any problem. You can pick up a SOIC Clip at any electronic store! Here are some of the data sheets information on the SOIC Clip. You can click on picture below or go to the web site for the SOIC Clip "Right Here"

Here are some more addition pictures just to give you a idea on how these devices work.
